The origin story

Outsider started in Brno with a simple frustration: we carry the most powerful computers ever made, yet spend most of our time staring at them indoors. What if we flipped that? What if your phone became the reason you went outside, not the reason you stayed in? We’re a bunch of game enthusiasts who met working on escape rooms at BrainFAQ. When the pandemic made it impossible to lock people in a room full of ciphers, an idea came out of the drawer — what if escape games could be played on your phone, outside? Since 2021 we’ve been on a mission to bring games of different genres and difficulty levels that are not just a brain challenge, but have real character.

Who’s behind this

Outsider is a small independent team based in Brno, Czech Republic. No venture capital, no corporate parent. Just three people who genuinely believe that outside is better. We do this because we love it and because it brings us joy.

• Maťo — gaming enthusiast, dreamer, maximalist, developer, and leader in one. An early adopter of AI who weaves it into everything from code to creative direction. He believes we can bring the world something it hasn’t experienced yet, and Outsider is how he’s making that happen.
• Barča — over 10 years of figuring out how games and people work — from building and selling a successful escape room to leading teams. She gives ideas structure and meaning, but never forgets to add the playfulness that makes projects fun for everyone involved.
• Tomka — perfectionist, leader, and developer who pushes things forward toward perfection. In Outsider, he’s living the dream of building his own product — one that leaves a mark and is never truly finished, because there’s always room to make it better.
